An Old Entry
I went to the old website and copied and pasted this post here. It is the end of March, and the goats have started to deliver. It is very exciting. The daffodils are glorious. March 28, 2021
On another snowy day at the farm, several more inches have accumulated on the ground. When I go to feed the chickens and geese, they almost attack me, hoping something is on me or that I am edible. Lately, I have been dumping the compost bucket at their door, offering food and cooking scraps. They devour the package of goodies during the day. Some of the chickens have been feasting on coffee grounds, and I was wondering if the eggs may have a spot of caffeine in them. Hmm
The sheep and goats in the barns are feverishly waiting for green grass. I have been cutting out pictures in magazines and did a short presentation for them about what to expect in a few weeks. The talks are well received. We will shear in several weeks, and the goats are a mess. They remind me of the vagabonds in βLes Miserable,β wearing worn, dirty clothes. The sheep look fabulous, and I can see new yarns coming from several ewes.
I am off to feed and lock up.
