Greenhouse

The summer months are coming to an end soon.  It could not have happened any sooner to me.  It has been too hot, very humid, and lots of rain.  These are perfect conditions for parasites that attack our sheep and goats.  This year, we composed a long list of all animals medicated.  Last year, we hardly medicated any of the animals.

I look forward to the cooler weather and a short dry period.

The garden looks complete, but the abundance of rabbits is overwhelming.  They have eaten most of my Purple Prince zinnias.  There is not much for me to do about it, and  I am giving them Greyhound tickets for a one-way trip to someone else’s garden.  It has not worked.  The Lime Light Hydrangeas are mesmerizing.  The flower heads glow, and the shrubs have grown to 10 feet.  They have made a bold statement in the front yard.

The greenhouse is officially finished.  The electrician completed his job, and now the place is wired.  I spent time cleaning and getting the room ready for autumn.  It is a dream that came true to spend time in the greenhouse or sit with a cup of coffee and watch it snow.
