Winter 2022

We are in the midst of winter. It is quiet, allowing me to spend quality time with Fred and myself. For me, this means taking chilly walks in the pastures with my little dog or heading down to the barn to check on the animals and ensure everyone is healthy. I also find myself spending a lot of time indoors, poring over seed catalogs and dreaming about this year's garden. The gardening magazines arrive monthly, and I can feel the gardening fever growing in me, but when I look out the window, I often choose to stay inside.

The does have begun to show their pregnant bellies, making it easy to see which ones had a successful evening with the buck. The anticipation of seeing what will arrive unexpectedly on a given day never gets old. You walk down to the barn and find a kid or kids nestled in the hay. Sometimes their colors can be a delightful surprise, which makes winter more bearable.

I am enjoying the greenhouse, and my plants look healthy and happy. There is still more winter to come, and I have many more dreams to nurture.
